Changes in Your Face Due to Aging
When aging occurs, several changes are actually taking place. The reduction in collagen, changes in the cellular structure of the face, and free radical damage caused by exposure to the sun can lead to wrinkles or lines.
These lines, which can appear as crows feet, smile lines, or frown lines, have their origins from creating facial contractions that cause the skin to fold into itself. These folds will often make the lines appear even more prominent and noticeable. Fortunately, with assistance from Botox, the appearance of these lines can be lessened.
Areas We Treat
Frown Lines: By injecting the area between a patient’s eyebrows, the muscles that cause folding and furrowing will relax and the line appearance will lessen.
Crows Feet: Smiling or squinting can cause the lines around the eyes, known as crow’s feet, to appear. The muscles in that region can be injected to reduce their appearance on the face.
Forehead Lines: The appearance of lines above the eyebrows will appear when raising them, causing the muscles to contract and skin to fold. Injections into this region will lessen their appearance temporarily and improve your look
How Botox® Works
Dr. Gabel will inject the Botox treatment at the desired site. Some patients state that it feels like a small pinch, and not very painful at all. The first results of the injection can usually appear in the first day or two, usually within the first 48 hours. These results from BOTOX®, though very satisfying, are temporary, and will usually last about 3-4 months.
