Trichoptilosis

The technical term for split ends. As a hair restoration surgeon, I look for abnormalities of the hair. There are many causes of trichoptilosis, and if I see this, I look for other causes of hair loss, then male and female pattern hair loss. One of the most common causes of trichoptilosis is trichotillomania, which is abnormal pulling of hair which can lead to mild or severe hair loss.
