This 33-year-old male patient had significant frontal hair loss and wanted to see how his hairline could be restored. Upon examination, Dr. Gabel noticed severe hair loss at the frontal hairline, and thinning throughout the frontal zone. The patient had moderate laxity in his donor region.
After discussing both the follicular unit excision and strip harvest method with the patient, Dr. Gabel recommended the strip procedure in order to maximize density in the frontal area. During the procedure, Dr. Gabel transplanted 1,492 follicular unit grafts into the patient’s recipient zone.
